Abstract

In this study, the andalusite ore sample from the Bazman deposit was utilized for concentration. The sample contained 25% alumina and 20% andalusite. The processing methods were implemented using two size fractions: +500 microns and -500 microns. The +500 micron sample was employed in scrubbing tests, conducted across three different size fractions: -3000+1700, -1700+500, and -500+300 microns. Various parameters such as scrubber rotation speed, solid concentration, and scrubbing duration were examined. The results indicated that the sample in the -500+300 micron fraction led to the best outcomes. The Qualitek-4 software was utilized for result analysis, revealing that the optimum conditions were 1500 rpm, a solid concentration of 70 w/w, and a scrubbing time of 25 minutes. For the +500 micron sample, processing following scrubbing involved magnetic separation and heavy liquid separation tests. Dry magnetic separation was specifically applied to reduce Fe2O3 content, with results showing that multiple stages of magnetic separation are necessary for effective treatment of this size fraction. The -500 micron sample underwent testing via shaking table, heavy liquid separation, magnetic separation, and flotation. Among these methods, heavy liquid separation and magnetic separation produced comparatively better outcomes.
