Among the tailings bacteria, Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans and Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans are of the most-studied ones for the bioleaching and bioremediation of elements. In this work, the isolation and characterization of the mentioned bacteria are studied by a proposed biochemical protocol.
