Journal of Mining and Environment is an international peer review journal in the field of mining and relevant environmental issues and aims to publish original papers, review articles, technical reports and short communications that are expected to be interesting for mining engineers, scientists, geologists and environmental groups that are not published or not being considered for publication elsewhere. JME is published quarterly per year. JME offers:

  • Publication within a short period after acceptance
  • On-line publication in advance of the printed journal
  • One journal copy with 5 offprints will be sent to the corresponding author

The main aspects of research areas include:

  • Environment (Mine environmental geochemistry, biotechnology, environmental pollution control and remediation technology, transport and fate of pollutants in the environment, environmental problems associated with mining and mineral processing activities, acid mine drainage, environmental aspects of mining operations, tailings and waste dumps management, reclamation)
  • Mine exploration (geophysics, geochemistry, GIS and remote-sensing, economic geology, geotechnics)
  • Mine exploitation (mining methods, blasting, transportation, ventilation, mine design and planning, rock mechanics, tunneling)
  • Hydrogeology (hydrogeology of surface and underground mining, mine water, dewatering and rebound)
  • Mineral processing (general, hydrometallurgy (leaching, SX, IX), flotation)

All accepted papers will be checked by iThenticate against plagiarism.

All type papers published by JME are made freely and permanently accessible online immediately upon publication. JME is an "Open access" publishing allows an immediate, world-wide, barrier-free, open access to the full text of research papers, which is in the best interests of the scientific community.

High visibility for maximum global exposure with open access publishing model rigorous peer review (blind peer-review) of research papers prompt faster publication.

JME has no publication charges and no submission fees.

All corresponding authors of each manuscript should be download "COPYRIGHT RELEASE FORM" from above this page then complete and sign this form by all authors and submit this form with all mandatory files which mentioned in bellow. By signing this form, copyright transfer to JME.

Submission of a manuscript implies that:

1) The work described has not been published before (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture, review, or thesis).

2) It is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

3) Its publication has been approved by all coauthors, if any, as well as by the responsible authorities at the institute where the work has been carried out.

4) Authors agree to automatic transfer of the copyright to the publisher, if and when their manuscript is accepted for publication.

5) The manuscript will not be published elsewhere.

JME respect all aspects of publication ethics of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). COPE is a forum for editors and publishers of peer reviewed journals to discuss all aspects of publication ethics. COPE provides advice to editors and publishers on all aspects of publication ethics and, in particular, how to handle cases of research and publication misconduct. COPE does not investigate individual cases but encourages editors to ensure that cases are investigated by the appropriate authorities (usually a research institution or employer).

A new algorithm for optimum open pit design: Floating cone method III
Volume 2, Issue 2 , July 2011, , Pages 118-125

https://doi.org/10.22044/jme.2012.63

Abstract
Ultimate limits of an open pit, which define its size and shape at the end of the mine’s life, is the pit with the highest profit value. A number of algorithms such as floating or moving cone method, floating cone method II and the corrected forms of this method, the Korobov algorithm and the corrected ...  Read More

Estimation of Cadmium and Uranium in a stream sediment from Eshtehard region in Iran using an Artificial Neural Network
Volume 7, Issue 1 , January 2016, , Pages 97-107

https://doi.org/10.22044/jme.2016.500

Abstract
Considering the importance of Cd and U as pollutants of the environment, this study aims to predict the concentrations of these elements in a stream sediment from the Eshtehard region in Iran by means of a developed artificial neural network (ANN) model. The forward selection (FS) method is used to select ...  Read More

Application of Schmidt rebound number for estimating rock strength under specific geological conditions
Volume 1, Number 2 , July 2010

https://doi.org/10.22044/jme.2011.9

Abstract
A literature review revealed that most of the empirical equations introduced for determination of the uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) of rocks based on the Schmidt hammer rebound number (N) are not sufficiently reliable mostly due to the relatively low coefficient of correlations. This is ...  Read More

Environmental Hazards Associated With Mining Activities in the Vicinity of Bolivian Poopó Lake
Volume 3, Issue 1 , January 2012, , Pages 15-26

https://doi.org/10.22044/jme.2012.72

Abstract
Hydrographically Bolivian Poopó Lake is located in the basin of Desaguadero River and it has over a dozen main tributary rivers and other smaller rivers with lower flow. The mine water discharge from the abandoned and current mining activities polluted these rivers by carrying heavy metals, dissolved ...  Read More

Selection of new exploration targets using lithogeochemical data obtained for Taknar deposit located in NE of Iran
Volume 6, Issue 1 , January 2015, , Pages 11-20

https://doi.org/10.22044/jme.2015.370

Abstract
Taknar deposit is located about 28 km to the north-west of Bardaskan in the Khorasan-e-Razavi province, which is situated in the north-eastern part of Iran. This deposit is unique, formed within the Taknar formation in the Ordovician time. As a result, it is of much interest to many researchers working ...  Read More
