This work aims to define an efficient and innovative tool in order to make early metallurgical predictions of the Tizert deposit in western Anti-Atlas-Morocco. To do this, the mineralogical approach is used as a tool of gometallurgical prediction using a combination of the lithological field observations on representative drill cores, microscopic characterization performed on 54 thin sections, and automated quantitative mineralogy (AQM) conducted on five composite samples. The metallurgical prediction of the Tizert ore is based on the liberation data, notably on the copper content locked in the gangue and on unrecoverable copper buried as a solid matrix in the gangue minerals (refractory copper). In order to ensure the validity of the proposed method, the results of mineralogical prediction are compared with the flotation test work performance. As a result, the predicted copper recovery results from the mineralogical data are practically the same as those obtained through the flotation tests, showing a maximum difference of 2.02%, an R2 value of 0.96, and a Root Mean Square Error of 1.64%. These results indicate that using the AQM data, the copper recovery could be predicted accurately for the Tizert ore. Furthermore, an early prediction of the flotation performance is very useful in the geo-metallurgical model conception. In addition, such an approach ensures visibility throughout the life of the mine, and provides quick and cost-effective data for processing the performance. On an industrial scale, the applicability of this method can be expanded further by integrating the mineralogical approach into all steady-state processes in order to cover the possible mineralogical variety during the operations, and ensure an industrial process control.

Within the last few decades, copper has been identified as one of the most applicable metals by many researchers. These researchers have also been enthusiastic to predict the price of this valuable metal. These days, the available technical analysis methods have been highly applied in the financial markets. Moreover, the researchers have used these methods to predict the suitable price trends. In the present work, some technical analysis tools including the Fibonacci series, Elliott waves, and Ichimuko clouds were practiced to scrutinize the price changes and predict the copper price. All copper prices from 2008 to 2016 were considered. Regarding the fractal property of these methods, the relations among prices were obtained within an eight-year time sequence. Since 2016, the copper price has been gradually deviated from its previous trend. Using the wave count and Elliott waves has specified that the wave number 1 and wave number 2 have been completed. Now, the time has come to develop the wave number 3. According to the relations introduced by the Elliott waves and the clouds made by Ichimiku, it was determined that the copper price would be almost $16000 per ton in 2022.

Solvent extraction of copper from the copper leach solution obtained from the ammoniacal carbonate leaching of the Sarcheshmeh copper concentrate was carried out, and the performance of CP-150, LIX984N, and Kelex100 as well as the effects of different parameters involved were investigated. According to the results obtained, the extraction kinetics of all the three extractants was fast. High concentrations (7.5%, V/V) of CP-150 and Kelex100 were required to completely extract copper, while only 1% of LIX984N was sufficient. Addition of hexane to the diluent decreased the capability of CP-150 to extract copper, while it showed less effects on LIX984N and Kelex100. A desirable stripping of copper from the loaded organic phase could be obtained using H2SO4 solution.

In this work, the parameters affecting the recovery of copper from the low-grade sulfide minerals of Sarcheshmeh Copper Mine were studied. A low-grade sulfide ore was used with a copper grade of 0.25%, which was about 28% of the mineral oxide, and the sulfide minerals made up the rest. Much more sulfide minerals were found to be pyrite and most of the gangue minerals were quartz, anorthite, biotite, and muscovite. In order to investigate, simultaneously, the solids (10 to 20%) and acidity (1.5 to 2.5) and shaking (110 to 150 rpm), the separation of bacteria from Sarcheshmeh Copper Mine was carried out. After adjustment of the sample, bio-leaching tests were performed in accordance with the pattern defined by the software DX7 in shaking flasks, and the Cu recovery was modeled and optimized using the response surface methodology. The influential parameters were comprehensively studied. The central composite design methodology was used as the design matrix to predict the optimal level of these parameters. Then the model equation was optimized. The results obtained showed that increasing solids (from 10 to 20%) was bad for bacteria. The highest copper recovery was equivalent to 69.91%, obtained after 21 days at 35 degrees using the Acidi Thiobacillus Ferrooxidans bacteria and a K9 medium with a pulp density of 10% and pH 1.5.

This study aims to estimate the function of copper consumption using the Johansen approach in time series data, between 1991-2011 in Iran. The literature review of specialized consumption and demand functions shows factors influencing the consumption of copper including copper price variables, aluminum price as a substitute commodity, oil price as a complementary commodity, and industrialization intensity. For this purpose, raw data from the World Bank and International Copper Study Group, were used to extract the initial data needed for the current study, and then research variables were calculated and applied in a seasonal manner. In the next stage, using vector autoregressive, Johansen cointegration test, and vector error correction model, the existence of long-run cointegrated equilibrium relationship was surveyed by vector error correction model. Model estimation results show that there is a positive correlation between between industrialization intensity variable and the price of substitute product (Aluminum) and copper consumption ratio Moreover, there was a significant negative correlation between copper prices and complementary commodity price (Oil), during the review period in Iran. It should be noted that aluminum and copper prices can impact the copper consumption, and an awareness of this can influence making copper sales contracts domestically and abroad.
